Just a taste of the first interdisciplinary trip to Cuba with group of seniors and juniors from Art,
History of Latin America and Advanced Spanish classes. In Havana, we experienced a complete immersion
experience: visits, sight seeing, lectures, and conversations with such
artistic representatives as the architect Miguel Coyula or Estela Bravo,
a documentary filmmaker; and met with University students in the
context of a community work project, as well as doing various tours and
workshops with artists in the studios of National Art Schools. By the end of our journey, everyone gained a much
better historical and cultural knowledge of the country, a much more
informed appreciation for its beauty and challenges, and exercised,
explored or discovered, linguistic as well as artistic skills!
